Zingerman’s Chocolates

PACKAGING DESIGN

I worked with Ari Weinzweig, founder of Zingerman’s (Michigan-based collection of restaurants located regionally) and pastry chef Charlie Frank to develop new packaging and elevate the visual identity for the Zzang! chocolate bar. With this particular chocolate, they sought a design that resembled more of a collector's item and had an elegant, expensive look and feel while still fitting in with the rest of their products (which have a more illustrative and playful visual identity). Portraying the story behind the Zingerman’s brand was an important consideration as well. I took this information into account when deciding the form of the box to typographic selections and color combinations. My design won a place in the Stamps Juried Exhibition.
